+1. I was just about to post the same thread. I am also an Irish Guy (Republic) looking to work in the states next year. Does anyone know if we can get in on a different visa, such as a J1 or J visa? Any Irish lads on here who worked in the states last year? Any info appreciated.

You can do it through the Ohio State University program or Equipeople where you can get a 1 year J1 visa.
Ask for Donna at Equipeople - 057-8643195 or Here is an link for info on the Ohio State Uni program from the Farmers Journal with contacts. http://www.farmersjournal.ie/2008/0920/r....rprofiles.shtml
Doing it this way is more expensive than when using a H2A visa because both organisations get you a job and they charge you for that. Since guys from the Republic can't get the H2A the only alternative is getting a J1.
